★★★★★
From start to finish we had such a great time. Pedro exudes knowledge and passion and excitement for his native Portugal. A natural storyteller and instant friend, he shared stories and anecdotes and historical tidbits we didn’t know. We came to love Lisbon even more.
★★★★★
Our tour with Mario Pereira was probably the best city tour we’ve ever taken. Mario is incredibly knowledgeable about Lisbon and its history. Rather than simply pointing out the sights as we passed, he brought the city to life by weaving together its history like a storyteller.
★★★★★
My two friends and I booked this private tuk tuk tour over Labor Day weekend, and it was one of the highlights of our girls’ trip! Our guide, Pinto, was wonderful — knowledgeable, personable, funny, and clearly passionate about Lisbon.
★★★★★
Me, my husband and 89 yr old mother in law had a fabulous time being shown the history and highlights of beautiful Lisbon. Nuno Miranda was a fabulous tour guide and beyond kind to us, even lending an arm to my mother in law when needed.
★★★★★
Marcos was phenomenal. He knew everything about the city and was able to answer all of our questions. The tuk tuk was very comfortable and fit my family of four with plenty of room. The best part was Marcos’s insider knowledge.
★★★★★
We had an amazing tuk-tuk tour of Lisbon with Filipe! From the moment we met him, he was incredibly accommodating and made us feel welcome throughout the entire tour. His happy, friendly, and pleasant attitude made the experience feel like we were exploring the city with a local friend.
★★★★★
Tiago was so much more than just our tuk-tuk guide—he was our driver, teacher, entertainer, and at times, roller coaster operator! From the moment our tour began, he was fun, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable.
★★★★★
We had an amazing tuk tuk tour around Lisbon! Our guide, Henrique, was incredibly funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. He shared so many interesting facts about the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems while keeping the tour entertaining from start to finish.

The I Took a Tuk Tuk difference
Thoughtful details, genuine local knowledge, and a more comfortable way to explore Lisbon.

Our guides don’t just know Lisbon’s landmarks — they know its stories, traditions and little corners that make it special. Expect genuine local insights, personal recommendations and plenty of personality along the way.

Travelling with five or six guests? Our Tuk Tuks are the only ones in Lisbon with six forward-facing seats — so everyone gets a comfortable ride and a great view of the city. No sideways or backwards seating!

Travelling with up to four guests? Our exclusive captain’s seat Tuk Tuks offer individual, spacious seats instead of the usual shared benches. A little extra comfort that makes a big difference! Simply request this configuration when booking, subject to availability.
Seat configurations are not guaranteed unless confirmed by our team in advance.

Good to know
This tour is suitable for all individuals aged 7 and above. Legally, we cannot accommodate children under 7 years old on our tuktuk tours. We do not recommend this tour for pregnant women due to Lisbon’s uneven roads. One alternative for families with younger children might be taking the same tour by van.
Our tours are offered in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French.
The maximum capacity for a single tuktuk is 6 people. In some cases, customers may find it tight. Therefore, we suggest reviewing photos of different tuk-tuks with 6 people seated to better understand the seating arrangement.
Yes, we can accommodate tuktuk tours for groups of various sizes without any issue, with multiple tuktuks and guides following the same itinerary together. If you require customization or have specific requirements, please feel free to contact us.
The tuktuk has a significant step, making it challenging for those with mobility issues (especially knee and joint problems). Please also note that the tour is not wheelchair accessible. If this applies to you, we recommend considering alternatives for your comfort. Lisbon streets, often paved with cobblestones, can be uneven. Although our guides are careful, clients with back or neck problems may find the movements during the tour uncomfortable. If this also applies to you, we recommend choosing another option for your comfort.
Yes! For each tour, we have a suggested itinerary, but our guides can always adapt the tour considering each client’s specific interests or if, for example, they are already familiar with certain parts of the itinerary.
Our tours aim to give our clients a comprehensive view of the city. However, in most tours and itineraries, time does not allow for an in-depth visit inside certain monuments. Although, if there is interest, we can always visit the Estrela Basilica or the Jerónimos Church. It’s not possible during a tour to visit the interior of the Belém Tower or the Jerónimos Monastery, as visiting these monuments requires at least an hour, which would make it unfeasible to complete the rest of the itinerary. However, we will always provide clients with the historical and cultural context of the monuments, as well as time to appreciate the monuments and take photos during our stops.
Our tours include several stops where our guides give you the opportunity to try various typical aspects of Portugal, such as the pastéis de Belém, the cod pastry or ginja. However, the cost is not included in the tour price, as it is optional for those who wish to try them.
Our tuktuks have transparent rain covers that can be used in case of rain. We also provide umbrellas if there is a forecast of rain on the day of your tour. In very specific (and rare) cases of severe weather conditions with heavy rain, and if safety conditions require it (if it’s not recommended to drive), we always give the client the option to reschedule or proceed with cancellation and refund of the tour price.
We understand plans can change. If you need to cancel, we offer a full refund when done so at least 24 hours prior to departure.
Yes, we offer pick-up services from hotels and Airbnbs located in Lisbon’s city center. If you’re staying outside the city center, we have a convenient standard meeting point at Avenida Liberdade 3, Lisbon.
If you’re unsure whether your address is within the city center, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
